Poster or Postcard
To take a picture that is worthy of enlargement to poster size was and still is a goal for every outing. But what is it that justifies scaling up an image? One reason could be the shear immenseness of the subject, such as a landscape of the Tetons or the Grand Canyon. Another, when there is significant detail throughout the image and enlargement allows the nuance to be noticed and appreciated. Or, when one wants to convey his esteem or admiration for a subject. Possibly to embellish or to editorialize. It is also possible that the basis for this is simply personal bias and derives from experience and priorities: when I was in college, hanging posters in your dorm room was only preceded by setting up the stereo.
Poster or Postcard
Values, opinions. The ‘ah ha’ moment. While reviewing some of my recent images, a friend exclaimed ‘You got a Postcard!’ with such enthusiasm, it was understood they liked it. A new way of thinking, scale down. A new use for an image, an altered approach to image capture. Change is fun. Interaction is essential.
Prints are available for purchase, I retain the copyright for all images. A limited number of prints can be purchased thru the website (this will be noted in the narrative below an image. Generally, these will be smaller prints). Please contact me to purchase prints of any other image.
Old habits are difficult to cast off. My preference is for large prints mounted on a stable backing material and hung on the wall with command strips (© 3M corporation). No mat and frame saves time and money.
Simple, easy, tranquil and with broad appeal, these images work well in office settings or commercial space. With the number of images to chose from, it is easy to pick a theme and carry it through out the installation.
